The ExtremeXOS Operation & Configuration training class provides Extreme Networks customers with instructor led lectures and extensive hands - on laboratory exercises. This course presents the concepts and skills required to deploy the Extreme Networks products as layer 2 swtiches and as Wirespeed Layer 3 routers in a variety of Network situations. This course is based on ExtremeXOS 12.1
The course focuses on device management, Layer 2 Configuration, Layer 3 configuration for IP Networks using static routes, RIP, OSPF, universal port and basic network troubleshooting. The course also presents an overview of the ExtremeXOS software feature set.
Delegates who wish to be certified are now required to take the ENA written exam at the end of the course for an additional cost.
Upon completion of this course, the students should be able to:
- Students learn to:
- Describe Extreme Networks switching products and software products.
- Define Extreme Networks hardware and software features.
- Define the ExtremeWare XOS Command line interface structure
- Configure the switch for management access, navigate the command interface and save the switch configuration.
- Configure port parameters, layer 2 forwarding and Link Aggregation
- Describe different VLAN Types
- Create and configure port based, protocol-based and tagged VLANS
- Configure a network using the Spanning Tree Protocol
- Configure a network using the EAPS Protocol
- Configure static IP forwarding and IP routing functions
- Configure and deploy a dynmanically routed network using RIP and OSPF
- Describe and perform basic troubleshooting steps for layer 2 and layer 3 networks
